Cage Rage heavyweight champ signs with the UFC
Published reports indicate that current Cage Rage British heavyweight champion Mustafa Al-Turk has signed a four-fight deal with the UFC. Al-Turk is 6-3 overall with all six of his victories coming inside of the British Cage Rage promotion. Al-Turk is riding a two fight win streak and holds a victory over former UFC and PRIDE veteran Mark Kerr as well as PRIDE veteran Henry Miller.
Al-Turk will be vacating his Cage Rage British heavyweight title to fight in the UFC and early speculation points to a debut against American Kickboxing Academy phenom Cain Velasquez at UFC 92 on December 27 in Las Vegas.
I don't know much about Al-Turk but he better be ready because he is going to have his hands full if he faces Velasquez. Regardless, this is great news for the UFC since as little as 6 months ago their HW division looked weak but with the additions of Al-Turk, Velasquez, Shane Carwin and the return of Randy Couture to go along with the emergence of Brock Lesnar things are looking up for that division.

This is also a loss for Pro
This is also a loss for Pro Elite since PE owns Cage Rage and CR is its UK brand.
I wouldn't be surprised to see future UFC UK shows with Al-Turk on the main card if he proves to be a decent fighter.
It should really make my boy
It should really make my boy look good after he destroys him.

Now that we know he is going
Now that we know he is going to be Cain's next notch, who was Ivan Serati brought in for?

its kongo
mma weekly has a story up
i thought kongo had some kind of shoulder injury and thats what was preventing him from taking a fight with lesnar (so instead lesnar fights against couture in one of the biggest draws mma will ever see for a share of the ufc HW title)
i dont know if the december timing is better for kongo or he just didnt want lesnar, but i guess this fight might get some relatively decent billing
