Liddell comments after the fight
Here are some comments from Chuck Liddell when he appeared at the post fight press conference. Even though his emotions were probably running high at the time he made no mention of retiring anytime soon.
"I'll take a little time after this fight but I've always said that I would decide when to retire in the training room not after a fight."
Liddell will now have to sit back and watch as the promised title shot against Forrest Griffin is now going to the man who brutally KO'ed him. That Griffin-Evans fight looks to be taking place at the year-end show on December 27th.
Liddell, who holds a 21-6 record with 16 of those wins coming inside the UFC's Octagon (a record) has lost three out of his past four fights, two of them by knockout. He still has the title on his mind but with this loss it could be a long road back to the title for Liddell,
"Yeah, it is still my goal to get back to the title but it is just going to take a little longer now so we'll see."
If you ask me my opinion I don't see another Liddell title shot happening but with his star power all it would take is a win over a tough opponent to get his name back in the mix. Dana White has always shown strong loyalty to Liddell and would be more than happy to have him back in the hunt for the title.
