Dana White: "Anderson Silva might fight three or four more times this year"

In an article on MMAWeekly.com, UFC president Dana White discusses plans for UFC middleweight champ Anderson Silva for the rest of this year and beyond. It looks like Silva will fight three more times this year, including his July 19 light heavyweight bout and Silva apparently has designs on holding and defending both the UFC middleweight and UFC light heavyweight belts simultaneously.

Here are the planned bouts, according to the report, as long as Silva can stay healthy and continue to win:

- July 19 against James Irvin at light heavyweight
- September 6 (UFC 88) against Yushin Okamin in a middleweight title defense
- November or December against the winner of UFC 86's Ricardo Almeida/Patrick Cote bout in a middleweight title defense

Here are some quotes from White about Silva in the report:

“When I talk about real fighter, this is the kind of guy I'm talking about. This guy sat down in a meeting with us, literally, two months ago and said you're not fighting me enough, I want to fight more. And he wants to keep proving himself. He's one of these guys that said my window is this big and I want to get everything in before this window closes."

“He wants to hold both the 185 and the 205 pound belt and he wants to defend them both. Normally I won't let guys do stuff like that because it's just… stupid. I'll let Anderson Silva do it.”
