Report: UFC signs Cage Warriors welterweight champ Dan Hardy

UFC.com is reporting that the UFC has signed Dan Hardy, the British promotion Cage Warriors' current welterweight titleholder.

Hardy currently trains with Team Rough House, which is also home to EliteXC welterweight Paul Daley.

According to Sherdog.com, Hardy has won eight of his last nine bouts, five of those victories by TKO and two by submission.

There's no word in the report as to when Hardy's Octagon debut will take place, who his first opponent will be, or the terms of his contract.

Hardy joins a deep weight class that features current champ Georges St. Pierre, former champs Matt Hughes and Matt Serra, as well as up-and-coming fighters Jon Fitch and Thiago Alves and veterans such as Karo Parisyan.

Unless this is a road to

Unless this is a road to sign Paul Daley, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. His losses range from good fighters (Yoshida, David Baron twice) to the average (Pat Healy). In that division, it looks as though Hardy will have a tough time making an impact. Daley, on the other hand, is explosive enough to make some major noise in the UFC welterweight division.

Ugh. Just noticed that

Ugh. Just noticed that Daley, the guy I am touting here, has a loss to none other than Pat Healy! Daley has looked like a monster in his last three fights, but he does have some questionable losses on his record, too.

i think this is a good

i think this is a good pickup. the WW is stacked but kind of needs some new fresh faces in my opinion. who knows, maybe he can bulk up and fight at middleweight?

It's actually getting confusing. I missed this but apparently this past week, Daley said he's fighting again:

i wonder how focused he

i wonder how focused he would be. and how much his heart is in this. he either has the passion to compete in mma or he doesn't.
