Report: Leben given jail time, UFC 85 bout crippled
MMAJunkie.com is reporting that UFC middleweight Chris Leben has been given 35 days in jail in Oregon for a probation violation (which stems from a DUI arrest in 2005.) Although he is credited with eight days already served, it now appears that Leben's UFC 85 bout can no longer realistically take place.
In fact, the Wrestling Observer is reported to have talked to UFC matchmaker Joe Silva and he has reportedly stated that the bout between Leben and Michael Bisping at UFC 85 in London, England is now officially postponed.

i heard a rumour that the
i heard a rumour that the UFC told dan henderson and yushin okami to stay in shape just in case...i wouldn't be surprised if one of them got the call up. i'd say dan henderson would be the logical choice because A) he's not in line for a title shot any time soon B) he needs a win against a "big" name C) he's probably in decent shape and healthy.

Henderson vs. Bisping would be fun to watch. I just can't see Bisping having a shot in that one...

Honestly, I'm hoping they pull Drago in for this fight, I think he's the worst possible matchup for Bisping and it's not that I don't like Bisping, but I want him to really have to establish some legitimacy at 185. Who better than against a solid brawler with good grappling, especially when he was originally set up to fight a solid brawler with good grappling.
You won't have Bisping whining about having to completely reconstruct his game plan (though I don't think he would, doesn't come off as that kind of guy to me), and you will get a solid fighter in to take on the Count.

Pete Sell would be the worse match up? I do think he could beat him, but not the worse match up IMHO. Because if you would take guys like Hendo, Okami, and top tier guys he would look like Serra vs GSP part 2.

They weren't going to throw anyone at Bisping that they don't think he will beat. Bisping is Dana White's British posterboy. If he wants to continue to build the UFC's overseas market, he needs fighters like Bisping to put on exciting fights. Guys like Paul Kelly, Paul Taylor, and the newly signed Neil Wain are others that typically put on a good show.
Dan Henderson is not a good match-up for Bisping. Neither is Yushin Okami. Handled properly, Bisping could become a huge star in the UFC. Fighting top-level guys like Henderson or Okami takes him off of that path.

Maybe this is a dumb question but how would they not think Day is not the favorite? He has to be either even or higher betting odds going in right? Sure he has a few more loses but look at who they have faced. I would bet money that Day's last win would walk through Bisping.
