The kids experience in MMA
As soon as we pulled in their eyes seemed to light up. Sammy jumped out of the van but the boys being a little shyer, seemed to lag a little.
We started of by meeting Steve a young Heavyweight who has already fought in a few pro fights. Then the owner of the dojo Sensei Poling came in and talked with us for a while. It was a very interesting conversation; he seems to share the same views of a lot of mixed martial artists and fans. Although he embraces MMA and trains in it somewhat, he hopes it doesn’t drown out Shotokan Karate, and the other traditional martial arts.
After Sensei Swick showed up the guys started stretching out, at this point our visit was still just a “visit”.
Chuck (CaptnCrunch) and Sammy (MMA Brat) was squrming around like they had ants in their pants. So I asked Eric if they could join in. So they started stretching out with them.
Immediately they kind-of included them as part of the team so to speak, and what better way to teach a kid. They went over a lot of BJJ, and we had a laugh at the fact that they all are huge BJ Penn fans, and Eric Swick had watched Sammy’s prediction video.
So to sum it up after a while Sammy had drug Steve off and started doing some stand up (she seems to be more at home on her feet) Chuck seemed to impress all of them with his wrestling, and strength, and Michael loved it and can’t wait to go back.

It was a long drive, about 60-65 miles 1 way. I forgot to check it. The bad thing is it was like all back roads, I don't live on the loop like you lol. It is 1 hour to the closest interstate from my house.

I wish I could move over
I wish I could move over there and train with them every day! They were the most polite and (as dad said) kid friendly group of guys in the world.
Chuck was happy to go to the ground, but I felt more at home on my feet.
