So, horse racing isn't barbaric but MMA is?
I didn't watch the Kentucky Derby but I've read all I need to know:

For those of you unaware, the horse that finished second broke both ankles and was euthanized on the race track...

i'm glad i'm not a horse. what's the point of horse racing anyway? get in a damn car and race. just because there are a ton of guys who are keibler sized doesn't mean we have to let them kill horses...

I have to be honest! I think its not! I think its retarded they have to use midgets, and and the half the people there need a foot up their ass, because they are stuck up, but it just riding a horse, then if it needs put down because its in pain they do it.

Eers, They put these horses down because of injuries suffered at races. If the horses weren't racing they wouldn't have to be put down. Remember Barbaro?
And, a big difference is that MMA fighters do what they do voluntarily. Horses and Vick's pit bulls don't...

Although there are some cases that the horses are put in danger mainly in saulky (guess thats hoe to spell it lol) but i can't imagine watching horses, cars or anything else runing around and around in circles. except the highlights on sportcenter.
I still think there is A LOT of difference between horse racing and dog fighting. for more than one reason.
1. Most of the time the horse makes it out ok were as the dog doesn't
2. When the dog dies it is bug food, but the horse gets to be dog food.

Good point! but if we wasn't forcing cattle to die, they would still be alive when we ate a steak.

I just hate these comparisson because they are not humans. MMA is more barbaric to me because it is human on human. I love MMA and don't think it is barbaric at all but if I had to choose one I 'd go to the one where the human is being harmed. What do horses do for us? I always hated when they talk about the best athletes ever and they include like Secretariat. Strap someone on me that is 1/10th my size but beating the crap out of me with a whip and watch how fast I run.
