happy with your teams picks or not? i'm hoping the packers take a cornerback...

Comments

I still look for a few of my Big East boys Brohm and Slaton to have huge impacts on a couple of teams!
I would love to see S.S. in New England in that spread.

Damn Saints....traded up to take Ellis from my Bengals. I like Rivers though too so it was still a good pick.
On a side note, I like how they put a retired player on the cover of Madden 09 so the curse will die. Alexander has fallen hard since being on the cover.

i laughed so hard when i saw he was released. i never really liked that guy...jeez i have to wait forever for the packers to pick. i bet the trade out the first round...keith rivers isn't a bad pick, pretty good LB and the bengals need defense...david pollack retiring, odell thurman not playing football for 2 years...

nope. that was a good pick. mayock had mendenhall rated as the top RB above mcfadden...don't know how much that means but it's a good pick. wonder why the cowboys went with felix jones instead...

I'm excited about Delware QB Joe Flacco for Ravens! Come on, give my boy Ray-Ray one more chance at the SB!!

Here are the two teams I think did the best in the draft on single picks .........
1. GB...Brohm could have been a #1 in any draft for a team needing a QB. That kid is a BA and he will do pretty good there.

2. Seattle. Owen Schmitt going at (163) is crazy IMO! he is one crazy dude! Anyone who watched WVU play knew it wasn't really about White and Slaton, it was about this cat!

i was sad that the ravens chose flacco. i think that either henne or brohm who they could have chosen in the 2nd round are going to end up being better QBS than flacco

Yeah, the draft is such a crapshoot. I probably overstated my excitement but Flacco seems to get good reviews. He originally had a scholarship at Pitt before going to Delaware and apparently has a strong arm and good leadership.

Either way, the Ravens QB situation sucks! They got one good year out of McNair...

What a great waste of all the talent on the Ravens D for the better part of a decade!

brian brohm!!! woot woot! haha..

i've only heard good things about flacco. what about the falcons choosing matt ryan, a guy who threw 19 ints his senior year...

They lost their Coach this year and there was some injuries, but I beleive you got the best pocket paser by far! I think the Steelers picked up the 2nd best QB and as soon as Big Ben gets his bell rung a few more times we will see what Dixion can do at the Pro level.

Eers man, Big Ben is a once in a generation type of QB. Where's the love?

i'm putting eers in the steelors bandwagon list...

No I am not saying bench Big Ben by no means......but I am "warming the bench" so to speak with similar stuff.....so I know lol
All I was saying was every one comes easier and they don't take it lightly.

a player doing well has as much to do about the system he got drafted into as much as his individual ability. you can have real talented athletes totally dying in talent suck-holes like oakland. look at randy moss. clearly has talent and ability but oakland is so poorly run that they couldnt actualize a fraction of it.

as good as a recruit may be, whether it be flacco, ryan, brohm, henne, even booty ... if he doesnt go to a system with good coaching, he will still be labeled a "bust" when it isn't solely his fault.
5 of the first 6 QBs went to teams without a proven QB so any one of them might have a good chance of seeing the field depending on how the early season plays out. if you have a team that looks like its out of playoff contention early or finds itself in a horrible skid, don't be surprised to see any of these rookies start taking some snaps.

... sorry phoenix but i think the nfc north goes through minnesota this year ... or, god forbid, detroit.

bosco I have one name to throw at you

system quarterback extraordinaire = Mark Rypien...

boooo!!!!!

well, the packers only lost favre, the rest of the team is the same, and i think aaron rodgers will perform better than what most people think. people were saying the nfc north goes through the vikings and bears last year and people hate on Ted thompson because they sign only one free agent, (frank walker, who is not with the team anymore) and what happens...? the packers go 13-3 and the rest of the NFC North go back to being what they are, losing franchises.

so, it's more of the same this offseason, and it will be more of the same this regular season, the pack sweeping the vikings and lions, and hopefully go back to sweeping the bears like good ole times.

why didn't the bears draft a QB? they can't be counting on rex grossman and the bearded kid can they? the vikings don't have a passing game, and all teams need to do is stack the box. berrian might help in play action but that's just one guy, double team him and they have no chance...

don't get me started on the lions.

the lions havent much been competitive since barry retired ... and quite sadly, wayne fontes might be the last coach that showed any consistency with the lions ... although that consistency was more or less trademarked with early playoff exits.

the modern day lions are kind of embarassing. between millen and his wide receiver bonanza's, not developing harrington into an adequate QB and having a revolving door for coaches, its kinda crazy to think that a team so horribly managed could actually be the front runner to take the division this year because the other teams have huge question marks at QB.

matt millen:nfl::isiah thomas:nba

minus the sexual misconduct

well at least we have proof that thomas was doing something at the office...ugh...

its kinda crazy to think that a team so horribly managed could actually be the front runner to take the division this year because the other teams have huge question marks at QB.

kitna isn't a good QB at all. he throws a bunch of ints and has done nothing in the NFL, except blow that playoff game against the steelors when carson went down with an injury. calvin johson under performed, just like charles rogers and the other ten first round WR's millen drafted(besides roy williams) their defense is nothing to talk about either, and trading away shaun rogers is confusing because he was the best guy on defense for the lions. this team isn't going anywhere but the bottom of the division. i think they caught the vikings syndrome, where they start the season real promising and choke at the end. i laughed so hard when the vikings started the their season 6-0 (a few seasons ago) and went 6-10...

cedric benson for the bears. BUST!!

Underboss MMAfia

Head of the West Coast Family
ULTIMATE CHALLENGE CHAMPION UFC 83

the bears are a joke and i've purposely left them off the list for consideration. (i'm actually am from the chicago area but am not particularly a fan)
cedric benson is one of many crappy RBs the bears have drafted, going all the way back to rashaan salaam... until the qb situation is addressed for the bears WHILE keeping the defensive cogs happy and in place, i can't look at the bears as a serious team. they can bite you in the butt once or twice but they won't be consistent enough to actually. the bears main offensive weapon doesnt even score a lot on offense... devin hester. you want to beat the bears, you simply dont kick to hester.

the last time the bears had a decent/adequate QB was possibly erik kramer (1998)
and the last respectable running back they had, prior to thomas jones who they traded away, raymont harris (1997).

i'm still confused as to why the bears traded away thomas. they couldn't have thought that cedric was going to be any good as a starter? what did they see in practice and in games that made them think that he can run for more than 3 yards a carry?

go packers!!!!

Underboss MMAfia

Head of the West Coast Family

i think its a cocky GM.
no logical explanation to keep benson and grossman while letting a contributor like thomas go ... except people in the front office saying some crap like "we drafted him, he's our guy. lets give him more time to prove it (despite totally just sucking in that alotted time)"
