Dana White is Right.
Whether you like him or hate him you gotta admit the dude knows his business. After reading his latest interview I couldn't agree more with a lot of the things he says. The UFC is the leader in MMA especially in the US. When you add the fact that they have Pride now there is no disputing they are the best MMA has to offer. Who is number 2? You could argue a bunch but none are even close to the UFC. They have the best roster of fighters bar none. They have the biggest PPV's, they were the first to do everything. They were the first to get on network TV and turn the sport mainstream. All these other boys are just riding the coat tails of the UFC.
The best part of the interview was the fact that people keep saying "is Cuban going to be the guy that brings you down...." I loved his answer. If another Stock car company opened up and signed Dale Earnhardt Jr. would that make them competition for Nascar? No they would just be a crappy stock car league with a top driver. You need more then one guy to start a league.
Ok enough with Dana White. This is me talking now. I know that in business competition is a good thing, but in professional sports competition sucks. There has got to be a supreme league. There has got to be a NHL, MLB, NBA, NFL, NASCAR and yes a UFC. If there isn't then you get what we had in American Open Wheel Racing a CART and IRL. I great successful league that because of stupidity and ego splits into two crappy leagues for a decade until one of them fails and when you look back at the sport they both failed because of it. Now they are going to struggle to try and get back what they already had...good luck but they opened the door and NASCAR walked right on through. I am not saying there isn't a place for all these other leagues. They just have to accept that they are feeder leagues...be happy with that...quit trying to steal top guys from the UFC and grow the next wave of talent.
As a fan I wanna see the best fighters and the best fights. Too many leagues screws that up.

I almost forgot you could
I almost forgot you could use boxing as an example as well. Instead of open wheel racing replace IRL and Cart with Boxing leagues and change Nascar to the UFC and you get my point.
I agree with you on two
I agree with you on two points. One, Dana White has done more for this sport than anyone else out there. His decisions have been very good ones so far. Two, multiple leagues has proven thusfar to prevent some much desired matchups.
However, in general I think multiple leagues can actually be good for fans and fighters alike. Multiple leagues forces each league to always put out their best product to maintain competitive advantage. Multiple leagues also forces leagues to give fighters the compensation they deserve because if a league doesn't do this, the fighters will jump ship.
Randy Couture couldn't do what he's doing with the UFC if viable alternatives such as EliteXC and HDNet Fights didn't exist. UFC is still supreme, but it is going to have to continue to work to earn our ppv dollars and to keep the best fighters. I think that's good for the sport in the long run.
i also don't like people who
i also don't like people who complain about DW...sure he's rash, and should watch his potty mouth more when he's in the public...but he saved the sport, made it "mainstream", and he's the reason why the sport is even around right now.
Bah I dont like you either
Bah I dont like you either Papa!! HAHA! JK - I get the point you are making... I have MUCH respect for what Dana has accomplished, I just dont have faith that he has what it takes to keep it rolling on to bigger and better....
i have faith in dana...one
i have faith in dana...one of the things he's doingright not is trying to get this sport santcioned in NY.

the one thing i don't like
the one thing i don't like about dana is how he's kind of become like a superstar...i think it would be better if he kind of run the behind the scenes stuff more and stopped doing so many interviews on how badass a fighter is, etc.
I don`t agree with alot of
I don`t agree with alot of things Dana White does but that`s part of being a successful business man in america (Steinbrenner,Mcmahon,Trump.etc.) some people like you some people don`t. When you think of mix martial arts competition in this country it`s UFC first then everybody else and that`s the truth. Seven yrs ago the UFC was in deep s**t financially now it`s raking in millions. True you need 2 have the fighters and good people around you but he laid the blueprint not bad for a guy who was a sh***y boxer.
