Man, that sucks. I read the story earlier when the cause wasn't quite clear. An otherwise healthy young athlete suffering a heart attack would seem to indicate either drug use or some sort of heart defect.

It was all over the local news here in New Yawk. He was the Ny Rangers #1 pick from last year's draft. This goes to show each & everyone of us how precious life is and to never take anything for granted.

Rumours hae it that there was no working defib on site and no Ambulance. The Kid was "playing out the last year on his contract in Russia." The Rangers would have loved to have him in the lineup this year. He was a great talent. If he didn't "play out the contract" he would have been in an NHL barn when the attack happened and would most surly be alive today.

This is 100% true it took 15-20 minutes to get him to the hospital.

I saw the video on this. Very tragic. Preexisting condition or banned substance? I dont know but a 19 yr old having a heart attack?

He had a good shot at being a star in the NHL.

It's crazy but these guys have heart conditions that go unnoticed. I was born with a heart condition had my first surgery at 3 weeks old and had a pacemaker implanted when I was 3 years old. Look at John Ritter he had a condition that was very rare and had nothing to do with his age.

Recent news said it was a heart condition and the kid shouldn't have even been playing. I don't know when they found out about the issue (before or after death). This death could be blamed directly on the NHL not having a Russian Transfer Agreement with the players and the Russian billionaires trying so hard to prove their league is comparable to the NHL regardless of having safety measures inferior to Canadian Junior Hockey where defribulators are manditory on the bench and a game cannot be played without an Ambulance with properly trained attendants on site. This kid should have been in the NHL not Russia and this kid should be alive today.

Some ruthless selfish bastard figured it was ok to not have the proper medical equipment and staff at a sporting event. That man should go to jail.
