Lesnar vs. Couture- I know it's early
Don't mean to jump over the Cote vs. Silva fight or the whole "Kimbo God of Youtube has fallen" talk, but this fight is really what I am focused on. It's like tunnel vision! I want to know what happens if Lesnar beats Couture? It can happen he's young, fast, powerful, skilled at wrestling, etc... I know Randy has been in this situation before and come through, but that was a few years ago. If Randy wins the argument as to who's better him or Fedor will continue. If he loses well that may all go away. And while some people may raise Lesnar to the best position if that happens, I seriously doubt that anyone who has watched this sport for years would. Most may say it was just time catching up with Couture.

I hear you wardog. I'm never counting Couture out again even if he's 73 and still fighting.
While Lesnar is a strong athletic guy, I believe Couture will be able to gameplan around those strengths. It's the more skilled guys like Fedor that I worry about for The Natural.
The only thing that is hard to gameplan with someone like Lesnar is that athleticism. He will not give Randy a moments rest like Tim did. And as big, fast, and strong as he is it works. I don't know if Randy can do a Mir defense by getting pummeled for a while until you can pull a submission off because in that department Randy is not that skilled. The Herring fight was a big boost for Lesnar and his ability to control a guy on the ground who doesn't have a BJJ game.

i'm taking randy. i dont know how but i'm picking randy. i met the guy, which makes me a fan of his...he's from kentucky so that pretty much sums it up...

Nice article in Fight Magazine's recent issue about this and why Brock is the betting favorite. Almost makes me want to throw money on Couture, given his history of up setting favs.
