My all-time five fave fights and why
So me and Dana are sitting around in his hotel room downing a couple icy ones...nah...He called me and I gave him some pearls like, "When everything's said and done", "when it all comes out in the wash", and "for all intents and purposes." My dog is sitting behind me on the bed growling, "They know Dana didn't call me." Geesh! Everyone's a critic!
OK, my fave five and why. Why's a good question because when I fire up my computer I want action. I want it free, and I want it now, but those lists get me every time. The hook is even more alluring when accompanied by videos. That way I can critique their obvious brilliance if I agree with them, or criticize their complete lack of human brain function should they fail...and I get action too. Speaking of which...
Don Frye vs. Yoshihihro Takayama: Pretty much explains itself, but if you're younger than 35 years old skip the next couple of sentences, or better yet, fire up Wikipedia. I graduated high school the same year as Mr. Frye did, and I know that if you had an ounce of testosterone in your whole body, you'd want to be just as big and tough an SOB as he is.He's Like Burt Reynolds with more muscle, more personality and more balls, Watch this:
#5: Don Frye vs. Yoshihihro Takayama
Hard to top that one, but here goes No. 4. I don't know where I caught this first but I haven't gotten bored with it yet. Enjoy!
No. 4: Kazushi Sakuraba vs.Kestutis Smirnovas
Was that cool or what?
This next one proves the maxim that on any given day any ole something weird, should the planets align themselves properly, and the blue jay sitting on the branch over your car should poo on your passenger side mirror, changing every other thing in your day drastically, while you wipe it off with a napkin from Dairy Queen, can absolutely go freaky deaky in the fight game... Whew...What a mouthful! There's no maxim like that by the way.
No.3: Scott Smith vs. Pete Sell
Weird huh?
Who can say enough good things about Anderson Silva? Not I, but this fight encompasses that tried and true old maxim which isn't a maxim. I' ll link the pertinent round and if you'd like to see the other two I'll show 'em to you.
No.2: Anderson Silva vs. Ryo Chonan
Wow!!! I'm speechless. Nah.... not really. Rounds 1 and 2 are:
and
You all saw it coming; there's absolutely no doubt. It's one for the ages. No.1 is no surprise.
No 1: Forrest Griffin vs. Stephen Bonnar
Part 2:
That one gets better every viewing if you don't watch it like every day. I'm hoping you enjoyed them. I know I did.
Same bat time, same bat channel.
