how do you feel about your team for the upcoming NFL season?

So preseason is almost over and finally the regular season is a few weeks away...

I was optimistic about the packers season after favre retired, but then now in the back of my mind when i watch their games i feel like i'm being cheated, because that is favre's team...at least i have MMA to take my mind off the next 10 (or more) years of suckness...

how do you feel about your team?

Phoenix -

I say the same thing every year about my beloved Detroit Lions. "We are going to win 6 games." Jon Kitna should be the best QB in the division. Roy Williams and Calvin Johnson are the two best WR in the division. The offensive line has to hold up, and Kevin Smith or Tatum Bell needs to establish himself as the man at RB. On defense, who knows? I like the additions of Leigh Bodden and Brian Kelly at CB, Ernis Sims is a future All-Pro at LB, the rookie MLB (Jordan Dizon) is going to make a ton of tackles in the Tampa 2 defense, and if we get some push out of the front four, we'll be OK. This year, I think we can take one of two from your Packers (I just don't trust Rogers yet), one of two from the Vikings (same thing with Tarvaris Jackson), and one of two from the Bears (same thing with Kyle Orton). I think we beat Atlanta, San Francisco, Houston, Carolina, and Tennessee, And we lose to Washington, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay, Indianapolis, and New Orleans, making us 8-8. We'll have to wait and see. As usual, we've looked great in the preseason, but once the callendar turns to September, we forget how to play.

Well, where do I begin? Ocho acting like a fool the entire offseason, now has a torn labrum in his shoulder, Housh is also injured, Rudi' never ending hamstring injury, and Carson with no one to throw the ball to also has his broken nose. So now our offense completely sucks to go along with our defense that has completely sucked for the last decade or 2. Not good in Bengaldom this year.

I like Detroit this year TBC. If Williams can stay on the field and not get hurt (had him in my pool last year) and CJ plays like he can then Kitna(pttooy...that was me spitting on the ground. Bengals fans need to do that when we say Kitna's name as he was not well liked and left on bad terms) should have a good year. But you never know what you are going to get out of Kitna from week to week. I like K. Smith too. I am going to target him in my daft this Sunday. He looks real good and should really help your running game which hasnt been a factor the last few yrs. I dont know if Det will split with Min though. They have one hell of a Def and Kitna is known for his Int's. It would be nice to see them in the hunt for the wild card berths but as you say, they forget how to play when the season begins. Good luck though, you will have a better season than the Bengals.

baltimore ravens....going with anywhere from 6 to 9 wins. too many injuries right now but we've got a good coaching staff, decent leadership, and a great run stopping defense.

Thanks, Cincy. I hope you are right. I typically answer this question with "we'll win six games", but I'm hoping to eclipse that this year.

Well TBC, it looks like Detroit is taking all the Bengals. First Kitna now Rudi. I hope he can be of use to the Lions this year. I have always liked Rudi and wish him the best. Kinda got the raw end of the deal here because of his injuries stemming back to last year but the NFL is a business just as much as the UFC is a business so he got cut after they couldnt find a trading partner. Will be a good back up to Smith and maybe more if his hammy heals.

Well TBC...have you recovered from your Sunday night bender? I havnt. Its going to be a long year.

I'm very optimistic. I thought Pops was being generous giving the Ravens 6-9 wins before the season began. But, after game 1 (I know against the Bungles) I feel great. Defense was on fire, we've got 4 quality backs, and Flacco was solid.

Plus Brady is injured, and the Colts don't look that dangerous, so I think anything can happen this year...

Cincy, my friend, I will be watching this NFL season from a drunken haze. I missed the majority of the Indianapolis-Chicago game because my group of friends and the bartender decided do a shot at every possession change of the second half of the four o'clock games. So every time there was a change in possession in the San Diego-Carolinagame, the San Francisco-Arizona game and the Dallas-Cleveland game (those were the only 4:00 games that day, right?), we pounded down Jaeger bombs, flavored-vodka bombs, Jameson...oh, man. I don't think my heartbeat has regulated itself after all the Red Bull I drank.

In no way, shape or form do I think I am 21 years old anymore/again. But I can usually hang all day. I don't remember anything from 8:15 through about 11:45. That period of time is just missing. Thankfully, I'll be golfing this Sunday in a benefit tournament in upstate New York for a firefighter who died in 9/11, so I won't have to endure the marathon this week (I'm sure I'll still be substantially hammered, though).

We'll see how this weekend goes. I do get to play Phoenix's boys this week. The way we tackled last week, though, Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson could end up looking like Walter Payton and Barry Sanders.

You guys can't complain, I am a Dolphin fan and even though Parcells is on board we are in for a long year.

King, as a Lions fan for nearly 20 years, I have seen exactly one playoff game win. I have plenty to complain about Barf! .

We stink every year. And ever since Barry Sanders hung 'em up, we haven't had a whole lot to root for, either. Football is usually over for me by week 7, at which point, fantasy football really takes over...

i don't know what that feels like tbc...i've only had to endure one losing season when the packers went 4-12 in '05...

over 220 rushing yards allowed last week by the lions...that's insane. looking forward to seeing grant get his 200 yard game as well tbc...

and brett the jet is taking on the brady-less pats...

Maybe if the Lions wake up and fire Matt Millen they can get out of this funk once and for all. He has been a cancer on that team the minute he was hired.

Wll the guy he drafted last year is going to be great, Calvin Johnson from GA Tech. Charles Rogers & Mike Williams=Busts.

The other receiver is good Roy Williams but he has done nothing else to improve that team. He must have something on the owner like a videotape of the owner doing coke and banging strippers.

i wonder if mike williams can get any fatter and fill the void where shaun rogers was not allowing 220 rushing yards...
