I'm assuming he means after Yushin Okami gets his shot. Either way I don't see it...

i don't see it either...i don't think for cote, knocking out kendall grove and drew mcfredries is enough for a title shot. and almeida has to beat better people...rob yundt?

Problem is... who else is there at MW besides Okami? I dont think either deserve a title shot, but there really is a short, short list of even remotely interesting fights for Silva at 185...

the speculation is that the winner would be "in line" for a shot ... unfortunately, you dont have an idea of how many others are in line ahead of the winner.
-okami SHOULD be the guy that gets the shot
-i think marquardt is a best talent but he lost (despite me thinking it was a crummy loss) ...
-leites got a W over marquardt ... but he was pretty well owned that it would be hard to justify rewarding him
-franklin realizes there is little marketability for him to fight silva for a 3rd time
-which could probably leave cote/almeida ... so IF silva-okami happens, i can see how cote-almeida could happen before anyone else on the list has 2nd fight to make it look like they deserve the shot

Dana White pretty much said that the winner of this fight is in line for a title fight......Almeida has beat better people lol! Have you looked at his record or did someone just tell you who he faced? Bradon Vera beat one guy and everyone thought he was the second coming, Almeida has a loss to Andrei Semenov and a dq loss to lindland. other than that he has beat guys like Ryo Chonan, Nathan Marquardt, Kazuo Misaki, Yuki Sasaki, to name some Ikuhisa Minowa all of these guys are or was top of the line when he faced them, but he beat them. It is not his problem if an American does not know who they are, I am sure Dana White and Silva does.

Just to be fair though, those fights came over 4-5 years ago. I'd like to see Almeida build up a more current resume against today's top contenders. For example, why not see what he could do against a Bisping before throwing him at Silva? Today's fans don't know who he is. I'm not sure why White always seems like he's in a rush to throw these guys into the lion's den. He doesn't have to feed them cans but he could build them up in a more logical way...Almeida going from Cote to Silva is not logical to me...

lol he is for real I would love to see him rip Bisping's leg off and eat it. I forgot to take my crazy pills grrrrrrr

maybe when bisbing beats up leben, cote/almeida vs bisbing and then that winner faces yushin okami for a title shot...because yushin okami beat tanner and does that put you in line? wouldn't kendall grove be in line too then?

Anyone seen the Countdown show yet? Jackson's family is just as funny as he is. At one point his brother (I think it was or maybe cousin) says that Jackson has an affinity for asian women (which I can attest to based on the fact that he was with an asian woman at the DC MMA event I went to earlier this year) and says, "what's wrong with black women?" or something to that effect. It was just funny. They seem like a cool family to hang out with.

i saw the countdown show last night. i liked that part where rampage was playing his mother and he put on a wig. was his mom not available to do the taping? because putting a wig on rampage and passing him off as his mom didn't trick anyone...

if this were any other weightclass, i would think that a win over leben would not be enough to get you a title shot, but bisping could very easily be a leben win away, if for no other reason than the fact that silva has already beaten the percieved top guys

if bisping beats leben, i wouldn't consider it to really move him up the rankings but because of the separation from silva and everyone else, i can see a bisping fight happening because it would be buzz worthy

i bet my jeans if bisbing were to fight anderson, it would be in the UK...

Well, Bisping is headlining his second UFC card (89). If you're going to keep giving him headline fights then put him up against a big dog for once. I think Almeida (if you look at this resume in its entirety) deserves more of a shot but Bisping-Silva would be a much bigger draw simply based on how Bisping has been marketed...

I also think that you can't just get to Silva without at least beating one of the three guys (Franklin, Hendo, Okami) below him... Just a personal opinion...
