Ricardo Almeda vs. PAtrick Cote
I read on MMANEWS.Com that this fight could put the winner next in line for a title shot. I have seen Cote and know enough about him to make a fair assessment of him but all I have seen of Almeda was his fight against Rob Yundt. Anyone know anything about this guy and how he would fare against Anderson Silva? Also, if Cote wins how do you guys think he would do against Silva if they were to meet. It seems to me that The UFC wants no part of Okami-Silva and if you ask me I am not real disappointed.

I would rather see
I would rather see Okami-Silva than Irvin-Silva.
I think Almeida wins via RNC in round 1. Cote stands no chance.
MMA Math DUH!... Cote submitted by Lutter. Almeida BJJ/mma-wrestling > Lutter BJJ/mma-wrestling.
And I dont think Cote + Almeida together would beat Anderson Silva...
silva would win. but who
silva would win. but who knows what going up and then down in weight will do to anderson silva.

Good point IAP, I remember
Good point IAP, I remember when Roy Jones fought at HW and then went back down to LHW he got crushed by Antonio Tarver, you could tell he was spent in the first 30 seconds, he said that was the worst thing he ever did it took him a really long time to get back into fighting shape.

Almeida has wins over some
Almeida has wins over some of the best in the world, including Nate Marquardt. His 1 loss was to Matt Lindland by DQ, and I think he prob is one of the best in the UFC. He may have lost his edge after being out of the game for a while but I bet he is still a beast.

Ricardo is out of NJ and I
Ricardo is out of NJ and I know someone who trains with him and Dante Rivera from TUF. Supposedly Ricardo's game is pretty much using great wrestling/BJJ to take you down and tap you out. Being that Silva is a great at BJJ as well it should come down to is the fight standing or on the ground.

I don't think Cote would
I don't think Cote would have much of a chance against Silva. He might be able to catch him with a heavy hit early ala Serra vs GSP but Silva would be the big fav in that fight. So if Almeida though, do you guys think he would have a good chance? Lutter thinks he was close to winning his fight against Silva...I don't though but Lutter can think what he wants. Almeida, same type of fighter so how much of a chance does he have to win against Silva?
