anderson silva to 205 and will face james sandman irvin 7/19

wtf. i don't understand this at all. if this is true and does happen, why? i don't see the need for the UFC to rush a card together and do wacky things...like having anderson face james irvin at 205.
i thought irvin broke his foot.

this is BS...... your right, it doesn't make any sense at all..... man the UFC is really worried about this affliction card. My call is that this match up will never happen..
if this is true, so much for my theory that bisping would be getting more legitimizing opponents before getting hyped into a silva fight (although a broken-footed irvin might be a pretty safe fight for a rush job if the UFC is really pushing this)
i hope it doesnt either...but it looks like it will be. it's nice, it's free...but ONLY because affliction put together an awesome card. why would the UFC wait this long to put a july 19 card together so late when this affliction card was announced a while ago? i'm going to buy myself a VCR...

poor planning, in part but at the same time, i think it is doing the fans a favor.
the best way to really press it to affliction is to force the viewers to decide what to do with their dollars and time by having a pay per view, but given the fact that a lot of fans will be forking over 2 weeks earlier, i can see, on some level, a desire to not bend the fans over too much by asking them for more money (although i swear i did it for 84-85). either way, i'll end up trying to dvr both. if it was both on pay per view, i think i would get the ufc one, dvr it and maybe go find a bar with affliction, but thats a decision that will have to wait for a future date. (with affliction being very HW oriented, its not hooking my interest as much because i am just not as big of a fan of the huge guys)
vcr??? what is this vcr you speak of?? You mean dvr right? easy mistake... anyone could make it!

I haven't seen the word letters VCR together in like 10 years talk about flashbacks was it beta or vhs?
In reality it's good to give Silva a medium caliber fighter when he's moving up in weight, as good as he is he will need time to find the right method to getting to 205. Swick said he felt much better his second fight at 170 after learning a better way to cut, Silva has to learn how to keep his weight 20lbs heavier now. He has to find what his strengths will be at this weight, he's not superman he's only human.

I'm sure I've seen Silva fight at 170..... 205 is alot.
no way this is true... what's the source exactly...MMARated? Seriously?
I call bull****.
And why the hell do we have to wait so long to see the champs defend thier belts... if by some flying rats ass chance this is true, how long before Anderson defends his title...?
Right now there is no real contender for the MW belt other than giving Dan Henderson another shot which I'd like to see or Wandy moving down to MW what is left for Anderson Silva?

Paulo Filho, Matt Lindland, and Cung Le would be a good start?

+1
Plus Okami... his only two losses since the DQ win over Anderson were a split decision to Shields and dec of 2 rounds to 1 against former champ Franklin. 8-2 in his last 10 and 14-2 in his last 16 fights is contender-worthy... I want to see Silva avenge this loss before moving up...
Still a much better fight than freakin James Irvin!!
