Great question phoenix.

Just a note about sites like websiteoutlook.com. I take their data with a grain of salt because I imagine they have no special insight into particular web sites and simply plug in a few traffic numbers and come up with a value (in this case the site's supposed value.)

The reality is that a web site is worth whatever it can bear on the market and other factors like perceived potential (including the potential of its given market) have to be taken into account.

Back to Phoenix's question. I've been aware of that site for a while and have watched as the supposed "value" of FightTicker.com has increased.

It's really about perspective. I run this site on my own with an operating budget under $10/month. So, if I were to sell it today (which I certainly won't) everything I would receive would be profit.

However, look at sites like MMAMadness.com, MMARated.com, or ProElite.com that have invested sizable amounts of money into their sites and are generally much larger ownership groups and they'd look at that value and not be happy at all.

Take a look at the values for those sites as well as Sherdog (10 years in the business) and MMAJunkie (2 years in the business) for perspective.

After less than 4 months, I'd say I'm quite pleased.

In addition, I'm going to be here for a long time. So, I'm not selling this site anytime in the near future!!!!

it's all freelance. i don't make a lot of money at all. been working out of the animation design center in redondo for a year and a month(no salary), it's just me and this other guy and an intern. my goal for 2008 is to get a studio job, same with the guy i work with. he used to work for sony and disney...

but i feel i can hang with the big boys in the industry...all i gotta do is get a portfolio together, keep in touch with the guys i know working on the spiderman show...one guy in the storyboarding class works on the show as well...

thanks me too. i'm on a journey! that's the best part. i won't ever feel i reached that point where everything works out because there's always the next goal. i guess if you feel content in where you are(or is the word complacent?) that's not a good thing.

Pramit great points, this site has grown by leaps and bounds in a short time and I highly doubg any of those other sites have dedicated loyal followers like the MMAfia!! This is the only place I post and I would say I spend 90% of my internet time on this site.

Phoenix, you have a lot of talent, plus you have a remarkable sense of humor. You can certainly integrate the two and have successful future, just be patient and good things will happen. Kepp on keepin on, that's from some 70's show like Good Times or something.

I got into the sales field with a 4 month degree in journalism from a broadcasting school, but I used my writing to show that I can hang with anyone, now I have guys with 30 years experience coming to me for advice and help when they write up proposals. I am 33 years old and this is the first year I will make over 6 figures, not too bad for a guy with really no college education.

NY is the laundromat capital of the world, we build around 50 new ones a year in the NY, NJ & CT area. We don't build small ones anymore either.
