Kimbo Slice story in the newspaper
While MMA has been widely accepted by news outlets on the internet, it hasn't received nearly as much coverage in physical newspapers. So, it's nice to read well-balanced pieces like this one about Kimbo Slice that ran in the Baltimore Sun's newspaper today:

at this point, i'm kinda pissed about all the hype this is getting when a potentially phenominal fight is happening the next day to very little media fanfare. i dont know if its independently the hype kimbo carries, the fact that its on cbs, or what ... but seriously, in order of excitement this weekend, i am looking forward to:
faber - pulver
carano - young
smith - lawler
the rest of the wec card
james thompson getting KOed
busta rhymes? explosions? fire? dancing hoochies?
I agree Bosco. I think Kimbo Slice has to be looked at as a means to an end. Without him, I think it would be very difficult to attract the average person to this Saturday's telecast. However, once that person is sitting in front of a TV set, I'm hoping they will see the other good fights on the card and look at MMA as a cool sport to follow.
But, no doubt Faber-Pulver is the fight of the weekend...
same thing. same thing.
